Check out this character I just made in Blender. Its a free program that alows you to be up there with big boys when it comes to making animations as well as many many other things. Basically I followed a tutorial you can find HERE. I have never used the program before and I manged to make this character in about a days worth of time. The tutorial will teach you how to start with nothing and end up with a animation of whatever character you decide to make on the way.
